Catch up!

We haven't had a chance to update in a few days...so let's recap:

Friday, I had practice from 4-6 at Buysse Field. It was a very warm, humid day...but I can't complain!!!

Here's lil' old me shagging balls in right field

& here's a picture of my roommate (one on the left) and another teammate being dorks at the field.

After practice, Josh came over to pick me up. We went to the movies and then he took me back to my dorm because I had to be up at 5am for a double header. Take a look at the new beard Josh is sporting these days:

Games went well, we were 1-1 for the day. Fall ball really isn't about winning, it's about getting everyone out on the field to get a feel for all of our new players. After my game, Josh came over. We drove about 15 minutes to his house & when we got there, his roommate Jaimie had put up all of her Halloween decorations. The house looked great!!! If only my room could accommodate such a festive look. Josh lives in a cute little neighborhood which happens to be two streets away from the first roommate he ever had out here. Here's a picture of the house:

When we got to his house, his roommates Nate and Ryan wanted to go out. Nate claims that Ryan doesn't have any luck with the ladies, so we all went out to a rooftop bar in Royal Oak to help him out. My ID came in handy!!! Here's a picture of two girls I got to take a picture with Ryan:

Sunday, we both had a fun-filled day of shopping! Josh bought two pairs of $5 sweatpants and was pretty stoked all day long.

Tonight we're both currently studying our college butts off...lucky us!

Wednesday

Yesterday I went to class and then went to practice straight from class. After practice I went and worked out at Calihan Hall...the HULK better watch out!!! I'm sure everyone knows how much I loooove to lift weights....not. As I promised here are some pictures:

A picture of my lovely bunk beds. I am bottom bunk and yes, those are organic sheets!

Here is the artsy side of my room. My roommates last name is Sinclair, hence the sign.

I live in South Quad & this is what my building looks like from the outside.
After getting cleaned up from practice, a couple girls came over to hang out. Marni (right) is on the Golf team and Slater (left) is the second basemen for my team. As you can see, Slater is a little shy! The background of this picture is my desk, I utilize a lot of organizers because there is so much stuff & not enough room.

Josh came over after he went to school & did a 9 hour work study day. He was starving so he decided to make some peanut butter crackers....see for yourselves!
Josh left for school & I am going to study before I need to head off to practice. We miss you all back at home!

1am insomnia

So it's 1am here in Detroit. I have to be up by 9am for class, but I can't sleep at all. My roommate is already fast alseep in the top bunk & I am writing from the futon, which is directly in front of the beds. I'll have to post a picture of my dorm room later. We had our first games for fall last weekend. We lost our first game 5-3, but we could have one...coach put in everyone in the game so that we could get rid of our first game gitters & it worked! However, since we didn't put our best nine players out on the field, we didn't win. The second game we won 10-1 and since none of us were nervous about the first game of the season, we did alot better. I am excited to see where we will go this season!!!

I'm really homesick right now....and completely over the whole Midwest lifestyle. I miss my family and everyone that's back at home... Can't wait to be back for Christmas! I have been checking for flights, but so far the cheapest I have found is $500 (thanks OPEC for the gas prices). Keep your fingers crossed for a cheaper flight...I'm off to bed. GOODNIGHT EVERYONE!!!
